You must be out the other side of Schenectady? Near that guy with the railroad cars into ice cream stands and stuff? Or is that all gone? Or am I on the wrong road???

Hi Jay, definitely recognize the empire state plaza in that one, I'm somewhere to the left way off in the horizon, probably out of the photo.

I'll have to take one from the roof here or up top in the field behind our woods, not sure if the smartphone camera will do it justice but there are some good vantage points around here, looking in the reverse direction.

That sounds familiar, maybe Rt 443 headed up the mountain, there was a place like you described, and to be honest, this shot of Rt 20 reminds me of Rt 443, as they seem to head in the same direction for awhile and are not that far apart.

jay,
Here's a couple pics looking back at you, from the otherside of the valley. Stumpung and stripping top soil for the Holiday Inn Express, just off Frebee 90. Pic taken fall of 97?
Billy, this ought to be in your playground.

It is, and ironically enough, I was very likely "in" the corning tower on the 33rd floor at that time, had taken a stint away from NYC and worked locally, til they sent me to Malone out onto the job site. I've got a few shots like that from the dozer when I worked in NJ, kinda wished I started taking photos earlier in life, but myself and another operator started fooling with those disposable cameras on one of the large site jobs we were on.

I probably watched that job from my desk, was facing that way and north, another building went up during that time over in east greenbush, think it was an insurance company or similar somewhere outside of Rensselaer. You must have been along Rt 4

Ok, here is one looking from my back steps a few moments ago, and its 30 Deg F in the shade.

If you can see beyond the blue water tower which is above Troy, those are the Helderberg's they look like a descending order of large to small triangles from here, right to left. I'm somewhere in the 400' elevation range above sea level here, the ridge up top in the back is 650' and has an even better view, I should have walked up there this morning, nice little hike and the view is always worth it.

I should have added, I have heard of a decent sized GC in this area that does sitework, was Bubonia I think, not sure if you were working with them or something.
