OT sorta, Glasses for scoping

When you go to your Optometrist to get fitted for scope glasses, what do you tell him? My bifocals are for mid to long range and the range to the computer screen...just under 3 feet for me.

The latter gets really close in seeing the cross hairs and the field of view but still a little fuzzy. Cross hairs comes in pretty clear.

I have a real peculiar situation here. Last year I found 2 snapping turtles on the pond. Today I counted 10 sunning on the bank and I have been after them several days. It's an epidemic and that is in addition to the two I wasted when I caught them crossing the yard to get to the pool.

The goose pair decided to make it home and I saw her get up to turn around and there were two big white eggs in the nest. He is a good guard dog. I may get some pictures.

I don't want the turtles around with them being here as a big snapper could bite a leg off Mr. Goose, or worse.

I take off my 2.75 readers when I shoot a scoped rifle, adjust the eyepiece of the scope to give a nice clear picture. See if it will work for your prescription.

No and I never had 30# snappers before last year. I mean 10 of
those suckers in a 2 acre pond can cause some serious damage. I
have 300 catfish fingerlings that are ready for harvesting and more
of that in perch.

Thanks,
Mark

Mel, I got to looking at my scope and "sure nuf" there is a place to adjust just the focus. It worked. Now I can use my regular med out to long range glasses with the scope and not have to change or try too see getting around with something else.

Appreciate your response very much.

I used to set a target stand at 100yds with a front page of a newspaper taped to it and adjust the riflescope focus to the sharpest view. In recent years, I hold the scope up to a blue sky, and adjust focus to give the sharpest blackest reticule
view, but only looking through the scope after each adjustment, so that my eye is not able to focus much on its own. Both methods worked well for me, but the manufacturers recommend plan b. Even though my right eye needs 3.00, I believe all of my riflescopes will adjust enough to give me a clear, sharp reticule view without my readers.
