Iowa Residents?

Just curious...how many Iowa residents post on here? We lived in Cedar Rapids from 1961 to 1977 and still have some relatives and good friends around there. Also got relatives by marriage near Harlan.

Been gone almost 36 years, and I still love Iowa, except maybe in the winter.

15 Miles south of Cedar Rapids. Of course you have been here and know that but others may not.

Your missing all the minor flooding now. 7+ inches of rain in the last 36 hours.

I spend about half my time in Minden Iowa & the other half in Faro Yukon Canada. Minden is about 18 miles SW of Harlan & yes the weather can be a pain. It is snowing right now. Gerald

You're not doing it right- you're supposed to go south from Iowa for half the year, not north. And the Yukon, to boot! "What was he thinking?"

Talk to a retirement consultant to try to get back on the right track. LOL

Our best friends, both down here and when we were in Iowa, are from Boone. They (and us) are in their '70s, so probably too old for you to ever have known.

Names are Bryant (Fetzer was her maiden name)

Dubuque county Iowa.

The worst rain is the the west of us. Most of the flooding is going to be west of us right now. The rivers may come up with the up stream run off but they are not bad right now. 11 inches of rain in the last 10 days.

I'm in Iowa now. Got here a week ago & it has been raining or snowing here every day. I have a couple dozers on a farm out north of Minden just waiting to go but it will be a few days before it drys up enough for them to do any work. I'll see you in Sept. gerald

I bet not many know where Sanborn is. I have a cousin living there. Dad's brother lived in Quimby, which is almost as large (small?) as Sanborn. Been up highway 59 several times.

I worked for my brother north of Goldfield, Wright county in the early sixties. I saw 83" of snow, 32 below zero, and 10 days with a high of 10 below. I didn't stay long, couldn't afford to drink that much.

My mom's cousins lived at Clarion on C H Moore farm, the same landlords where my dad was born and I grew up in Dewitt county IL.

I bet I know his son and grandson, who is one of our students in archery. He is a very good kid.

Born in Belmond, raised in Denver, currently reside in Richmond TX.

Still have family in Clarion & Cedar Falls. My cousin just got elected Wright county Sheriff.

Still think of myself as an Iowan.

Albert City in northwest Iowa. We are enjoying all the rain we can get. We've had maybe 4.2" or thereabouts in the past week or so and we still don't have ponds in the fields. The tile just started running. Jim
