Quick attach loader plate I built

Been working on this setup for three days. I wanted to be able to use all of my buckets and attachments on either loader,so I made this one over so it's the same as my White loader.
It was pretty simple to make my old buckets over. As you can see,all I had to do was cut the brackets off, weld a piece of angle iron with some angle bracing on this old tine manure bucket, then weld two pieces of half inch flat stock down low and cut slots in them for a wedge shaped flat pin. Then just put a hair pin in the wedge pin to keep it from bounding out. I changed that bucket over a month or so ago.

It was a little more complicated on the bale grapple with that square tube frame. I had to make a flat plate and U-bolt it to the frame. I welded the angle iron and flat pieces to that. I had to cut a hole to run the hydraulic hoses through,so I cut out a piece of tire sidewall, cut a slit in it and bolted to over the hole, then shoved the hoses through it.

The part that goes on the tractor just has an angle iron lip on top and two slots cut in the bottom. I cut down the old mounts from the bale grapple and welded them to the plate. Then just tip it under the angle iron on the grapple or buckets, roll it back, the flat pieces slip in to the slots, drop in the wedge pins in,put in the hair pins and it's ready to go.

I've only got about $170 in new steel in to the whole thing, both halves.

Looks great. You make my quick attach project seem easy.

I was in your neck of the woods the other day at Wiles in Carson City to grab a quick attach plate to weld onto my loader bucket.

Hard to believe no one in the Flint or metro Detroit area had one in stock. Wiles had 2 pallets of them, 50 or so. Nice little 60 mile drive through the country to Carson City, beats metro traffic any day.

I really like your fabrication work. I was interested in your bale grabber for the silage bales. I am new to the individual wrapped bales this year as I bought an individual bale wrapper this winter. I looked at several of the bale grabbers like yours, but two things stood out. They didn't look like they could withstand the abuse (not built heavy enough) and they were expensive! I had one guy "demonstate" one for me and his broke during the demonstration! I found a front loader mount bale mover that has the two pipes that cradle the bale and lift it. The two pipes of the cradle turn freely and the pipes "roll". Other than not "handily" being able to set the bale on end, it looks like it will work for me. Plus, I"ve only got $600.00 in it. I too had to fabricate the attachment plate to fit a skid steer attachment setup. WHat kind of bale wrapper do you use RRlund? If you have time, please tell me about its use as opposed to the "inline" bale wrappers. Thanks.

I don't wrap them. I bought that to stack bales 4 high on end in the barn. Stacking them with a spear I had a lot of wasted space up high.
This one works like a dream for feeding. I take the strings off in the barn, squeeze them with this and don't loose any on my way to the feeder. I just drop them in and don't have to get off the tractor. It's especially nice for straw since the strings slip so easy and the mice tend to chew them off.
This grabber is a Work Saver Bale Hand.

Second question: It appears you hook up the grabber hydraulic hoses to quick couplers that are ran from the rear remotes on the tractor. The loader is probably ran off of a joystick, and the grabber cylinder has to be plumbed into the rear remotes. Can you take some pictures of your hoses and their routes from the rear of the tractor? Any advantage in simply having one long set of hoses coming from the rear remote to run the grabber cylinder?

No,I've got a 3 spool valve on the loader. I just took the breakaway clamps off of it this morning. I welded a flat plate to the loader and put U-bolts around the individual couplers. Those breakaways were a pain in tha backside to plug back in. Now all I have to do is pull the collars back and push the tips in.
I ran the hoses next to the other ones that ran along the loader frame and put big zip ties around them.
There are couplers on the hoses to the bucket cylinders too,but they don't really need to be there anymore. I put those on there because that loader originally just had a single bucket cylinder and to put the bucket back on,I had to take those two cylinders off and put the single one in the center back on. With this quick attach,I won't have to switch back to that cylinder.

I want to be able to use that grapple on my White loader too,and I'll either have to buy a 3 spool valve for that one or I will have to plug in to the remotes. Either way,I want to use 3/8ths or 1/2 inch pipe along the inside of the loader frame on that one. I haven't got that far with the project yet.
