Been a tough week !

About Monday last week , I tripped and fell . No big deal but, I landed on a pail. Have a 4 to 6 inch bruise on my ribs. Not sure but seems likely I have a broken rib. Hurts like heck when I bend, lift or take a deep breath. Can't stay sleep for more than 3 hours at a time. So doing milking and other chores is takeing a real toll on me. Like I said , it has been a tough week, looks like another coming as I have been awake since 2:30 am.

Ouch!

Sorry to hear about your bad time...

If you want to feel better about yourself, read my previous posts, and then read to response to them, when I just asked to be heard, not replied to, when people just guess the rest of the story...

It just makes it worse when you are trying to vent.

I understand you are just trying to vent, and you had a rough one.

Glad you are coping with it. Some people will try to make themselves righteous and make you feel really small. Ignore them and know that what you are doing is anything but small. Life is a battle even when you have no wounds. It's just a complete struggle when you get wounds. I will never belittle you for that.

I wish you the best.

thats a tough break (no pun intended).those girls won't wait- for milking OR their feed. i hope you can get some help to lessen your work load. best to get it checked out to see just what got broken.

Bruce go get them ribs checked out!!! If they are truly broken you can puncture a lung with them. More than likely you cracked several ribs and that is a painful injury. You do not realize how much you twist and bend until you can't do it without pain. The biggest issue is there really is no cure other than rest and time.

Hope you can get some help so you can heal. It is tough with livestock needed 24/7 care to be laid up.

BTDT. Hurts now? Wait till you sneeze.

I do advise getting them checked just in case they are broken and not cracked.

Then, its just takes time.

Bruce,
Hope you recover quickly. With spring planting comming????? when and if, there will be a lot of liting and clumbing on and off equipment. Not a good thing with sore ribs.
Take care,
Loren

I almost fell last night on a piece of plywood I left laying around. I try to clean an area before I start working clean and keep it clear while working.

I still end up getting hung up on a compressor hose or extension cord somehow.

Sounds like you have a broken rib, or severely bruised if you cant breathe properly. Not a lot a doctor can do for it, other than taking it easy.

I broke one a month ago falling on a bucket tooth. I found taking painkillers and sleeping in a recliner chair for a couple of weeks helped. The last week I'm finally able to work fine.

Have a suggestion,(some will indicate that's my problem) Have your Doctor examine you and prescribe a good painkiller, such as Oxycodone, or Hydrocodone.Having bi-lateral neuroipathy for the past 10 years, getting progressively worse, creaping into other muscle and bone mass, I adhere to my own advice. I can function reasonably well with a clear mind and some movement that is pain free.

Sounds like you may have a broken or cracked rib, an xray will determine that problem. Doesn't mean you'd be hooked on a pain killer, but would be beneficial for short term, to ease the suffering. JMHO.
