I took this pic at 7:00 pm for billyinNY. If you can zoom in to the middle of the pic you might be able to see the Corning tower in Albany! It'd be right above the orange property tape on the fence wire.

JayinNY you going to be giving Larry a run for who posts the most pictures now that you have your smart phone figured out???? LAMO

Keep them coming I enjoy them. I still just us an old style camera that is 10 plus years old. It eats batteries so just about every time I think to try and take a picture it has dead batteries.

JD, The nice thing about the phone is I can take the pic and post it on this site from one device now. before I had to take a pic with my digital camera, load it onto my compuker, than upload it to this site on dial up, which took upwards of 25-30 minutes! I can now upload a pic from the phone in a few seconds. Lol, I'm glad you like the pics of my area! I'll work on more pics, the phone can only zoom so far, but all in all not a bad camera in the phone.

JD I had a old camera that ate batteries like no tomorrow. I started using Energizer ultimate lithium and they last about 10 times longer then regular batterys. The bad thing is they are not cheap.

Thats the reverse view, I can barely see the outline of the tower, I worked on the 33rd floor for over 1 year when working with OGS and department of corrections, when there was a need to build correctional facilities for the bad guys. You get a pretty good view from there, I I could see the field behind our place and the top of our ridge from my desk, which was facing towards home, my father was a concrete superintendent on that job when the tower was built, they called it the south mall back then.

Where abouts is the photo taken from ? I'm just east of Troy, amazing how there is high ground all around here with some amazing views.

I'm in Schenectsdy co. I took the pic from my driveway. It really looks pretty at night time seeing the tower and city all lit up!

My 3GS would not upload on here, but I just got the 4gs, and it worked by taping upload photo, then tap choose file, thenthe screen pops up to ask if u want to use existing photo, or take a new photo, choose one, it will either go to camera or to your photo gallery. Choose your pic and it will upload, when it shows the pic on the right side of the screen tap on continue. Type your text and post your message.

Ok, kind of helps narrow down the direction I am looking back, it is fun to triangulate from the prominent landmarks around here, that shot from the Helderbergs, I am pretty sure from what I see in the photo is the same shape as the end of the northern most of those mountains, as it sure looks the same from this side just a lot further away!

Kind of a hobby, every time I go up to see a friend in east berne, I often times stop at a lookout and ponder the horizon. Now I can look over that direction and know of someone over there LOL !

The one thing about this part of the Hudson and Mohawk river valley's is the surrounding rolling hills and associated views, I can say from some of the prominent high areas like where the W.A.S.T. tower is and other, the view is something to marvel, there are many places you can visit or travel and see a long ways off, the varying terrain does make it even more fun to look at, I always enjoyed working the fields nearby solely because of the view !
