Moving pictures in a Mac

I imported some pictures from a camera card into downloads. I get a URL in the list and I can call up the pic.

I want to transfer it to iPhoto so that I can vary the size hoping that if I shrink it I can get it to post on here. The picture is of a tractor....keeping the subject legal. Grin

I don't know how to do that and my 2 books on the OS and original instructions don't help.

Thanks for any info,
Mark

With our Mac, when we take them from the card it automatically opens I-Photo and they load in to it. If you are finding them on your desktop, you should be able to just drag them into I-Photo and go from there. I've did it both ways.

I had downloaded Google Picasa and on exporting it let me downsize the image. I tried it 3 times, with sizing all the way down to 320x240 and it still wouldn't load.

Will see what the adm. lady has to say.

Thanks again,
Mark

I'd ditch the Picasa and just go with I-Photo. Have never had a problem with it and we use it all the time for many years.

I have iphoto on the computer but no instructions as how to do it. I copied your note with your pics and all but couldn't correlate that screen to any functions available. I guess I need to get a manual on it.

Thanks,
Mark

Click on I-Photo to open it up. At the top of the screen it will show the top display. Then click on "SHARE" and it will open the next window.
Now click on "EXPORT" and it will give you the last window. In this one I clicked on the "Scale images" button and then I could adjust the size. When done, click on export and it will send it to the desktop and from there you can upload it. If you want to put it in an email you click on "EMAIL in the "SHARE" window. It will send the picture to a new email page. You can select the size you want to send in that window also. I usually use medium setting. I opened my email if you want to talk direct.
