idiot driver

I was hauling load of empty totes today. Pulling trailer with my pick up .Noticed guy in mirror riding my butt, I was doing 30 mph speed limit in town . He barreled around me on double yellow sped off up hill. Wasn"t 1/2 mile I come around corner there he is hit head on with car , car in ditch ,driver laying in ditch screaming . This idiot is still in van facing other direction . I slowed to drive through , had to look right at him as drove by . couldn"t help but call him a few choice names as went by . Pulled over , called cops , other were attending to those hurt . Told cops what this dork had been driving like. They thanked me and I left . Had to be in a hurry ,,hope other driver is okay .

I see a guy like that EVERY morning on the way to work.
If there's ONE car length between two cars, he's gotta pass.
Weaving in and out, can't wait to see him wrapped around a tree, sad thing is - he'll take out someone innocent.

Know a young "lady" who lives in town.....Speed limit is 55 on the smaller state highways around here, she'll be cruising along at 70, giving the finger and calling names to anyone going slower. One of these days, she's gonna pop over a hill doing 70, and find an Amish buggy in front of her....

Aptly titled thread; Wife and I were returning home from breakfast a couple of days ago and were almost hit headon in our lane by a young blonde in an SUV passing in a blind 45mph curve. She was doing around 60mph, and ON THE PHONE!! The driver being passed nailed the brakes and I was on the berm heading for the ditch when she squeezed back into her lane less than 3 car lengths from us, and cutting the other driver off. Her NO PASSING zone began about 1/2 mile prior to this point. The luckiest of all was the little child in her carseat. What in the H*** are these idiots thinking?? If no regard for others/laws; don't they at least have a sense of self-preservation for themselves and their loved ones??
Thank God for looking out for all!

Don't even mention the Amish buggy.

Last summer I was the first on the scene where an Amish buggy got creamed from behind by a car. Thankfully, it turned out there were no serious injuries behond the buggy being destoyed, But when I pulled over and stopped, I just knew I was going to find a couple of bodies in amongst the mess.

Some folks just can't stand to be behind a trailer for some reason I don't understand because you can be doing 75 in a 55 and they still can't stand it.

What makes me furious is one of the ambulance-chasing lawyers that advertises on local television has a commercial on now where he brags he got money for a client by suing a farmer. His client hit a stopped farm wagon. A farmer parking a wagon in a blind spot on a public road? I doubt it. Some fool thinking he did not have to watch for potential hazards. Most definitely. There are certain times of day I will not move equipment as it is because of local traffic.

Been close to twelve years ago I had a real idiot hit me. Best I could estimate he was running well over 70, in a 45 zone, when he passed a lady in the middle of an S curve. The roads were wet and he lost it just as he went into the last curve. He hit me hit me head on with the passanger side of his car carrying both of us nearly 40 yards off the road. Had it been a full frontal impact things would have been far different given that we would have hit with a combined speed around 115 MPH. As it was it pushed the side of his car nearly to the center console, and the front of my truck back enough to buckle the floor pans. He was airlifted to the hospital, bleeding out of his nose, and ears. I heard the cops discussing the extent of their investigation just in case he "didn't make it". The firefighters on the scene told me I was lucky to be alive, and even luckier since I walked away with nothing more than a bruised chest from my seat belt.
What was sickening to watch was the firemen going through the car with a fine tooth comb looking for an injured child because he had car seats in both the front and back seat. Thankfully he didn't have his kids with him or the ones on the passanger side (the front expecially) would have probably been killed on impact.

Ultimately he was never charged with anything because the cops didn't see the accident happen(they had the lady he passed as a witness to his speed and recklessness)> Too the would have had to call the SHP to do the investigation needed to convict him of anything. Funny he had totaled two Lexus cars about 6 months earlier and wasn't charged with anything, again, because a cop didn't see it happen. Even so, the officer at the scene estimated his speed at nearly 55 in a 35 zone when he lost control on the accident report.

Yup, and they all vote:( Two days ago I met my wife in morning at store. We left in pouring rain, she in her car me in mine. An idiot in a white "company" type vehicle approache on a side steet, blew a stop sign, and pulled in front of her going the same way. She was able to swerve. I was following, sped up and got the "hows my driving" info. Called when we got home and left info and phone no. Never heard anything. No name on pickup.

I saw a pontoon boat on it's side in a roundabout today. No signs it was ever strapped down. The guy pulling it was pulled over and 2 county units were on the scene.

When I was driving I had an SUV pass me one morning, fell asleep and ran off the road, back on, and flipped over. By the time the HP showed up (sheriff couldn"t write the accident report) I was the only witness still there. All the medics were over looking at my truck because someone who happened along later said I was involved.

Now out here (southwest Nebraska) I hate being on the highway in the morning. Always have someone riding my bumper, won"t pass, won"t back off, that one F-150 wouldn"t pass if I pulled over and stopped. Then he"ll blow his horn and flash his lights when you slide by your turn on an icy road.

Then the people leaving McCook to take their kids to the rest area to catch the Indianola school bus will do 50 in the 35 to pass you, then slow down to 45 once they hit the 65.

People irritate me.

Bryan, I sent you an e-mail the other day about the wheel weights. Did you recieve it, it was thru YT. I don't know how to open mine or I would. gobble

Around here, I watch out for Mercedes & BMW cars. Their drivers have an attitude and demand the right-of-way at all times. Driver of a Mercedes convertible didn't signal yesterday when he made a U-turn right in front of me. I could have wrecked him easy, but I was watching him and had him pegged as an idiot.

LOL Don, we had a local here buy a 25000 dollar pontoon a couple of years ago. Then picked it up from the dealer on a very windy day. He didn't make it 5 miles. Between his speed and agust of wind it picked the boat up off the trailer and set it on it's side. Same as yours over there, not tied down.

A man was changing the inside dual of a u-haul truck on the interstate. The man who rented the truck, said that the truckers were the best at moving over and providing a safe margin. And the worst were woman, talking on cellphones, driving expense cars.
