Well it does involve a tractor!

A new use for an old tractor. They say nothing runs like a Deere. Nothing turns a deer or a hog roast like a MF 35 apparently. I think its a 35 , I wondered if it was an IMT 539 (i.e. a Massey Ferguson clone built in Eastern Europe) but on second thoughts I think I can just make out the "Massey Ferguson" decal on the hood.

Hi Roy,
What a superb idea!!!!!! A very good range of cooking speeds and reverse as well to make sure all those nooks and crannies get cooked!!!! Very economical and can be used for other less important jobs like cutting the hay or cleaning the yard. I suspect that the warranty might be a bit dodgy though!!!!!
Harry would be turning faster than the meat.....or would he?????
I don't think that there is any doubt that it is not a gen MF 3-cyl 35. I suspect that the headlamps are of French or German origin. I don't immediately recognise the cab though!.

Cheers

Great idea! Here that would be called a redneck BBQ setup.
Taking the wheel off has to be a little work BUT ya gotta do what you gotta do to BBQ.

OK, I understand 540 RPM may be a bit too fast, but it might be easier to rig up a gearbox to the PTO than to take the wheel off.

Thats different, but farm familys did that with a car-pickup for 50 yrs or better when butchering running a grinder or press.Look at some old pictures of what people did with Model Ts by jacking up a rear wheel.

I remember my granddad running a buzz saw by jacking up his model A and running a belt from a rim to the saw. The scary part was when he would reach into a bucket for some tallow and slap it on the blade as it was spinning. He was sawing mesquite and if he didn't keep the blade greased it would burn up.
