Permatex High Tack?

I bought a can of Permatex aerosol high tack gasket sealer at NAPA yesterday. I used some last night but it was anything but high tack. I shook the can for several minutes and it comes out red but has no “stick” to it whatsoever. Have they changed this stuff or do I just have a bad can? I recall it being sticky enough to hold the gasket in place. This stuff just seems to dry and disappear on contact.

I have not used that stuff i use copper coat . Use to be able to get copper coat in a brush on can but can't find it anymore just the spray stuff.

spray both sides let sit a bit till tacky then apply gasket then lift off and then stick back down. its the only thing I use on gaskets and not a leak.

I have used it for many years. I bought a new can about a year ago and it worked as well as the previous one.

I only use it as a bead sealer on tubeless tires, it
works great for that. I never liked it for gaskets.

I think I must have a bad can. It seems to just be mostly solvent and evaporates immediately leaving little to nothing behind. I found if I give each side about 10 coats I begin to get a little tack.
