Has anyone else been having issues with paypal? Seems like they don't want to process payments unless the bill me later option is checked.

That's always worked in the past but lately I've been having problems. They seem to be turning up the heat to connect with my bank or apply for new MasterCard. It used to be easy but now checkout is a pain in the rear.

They basically cancelled my Pay Pal account and refused to allow me to purchase anything else until I signed up for "Bill Me Later".

I use paypal several times a month most months. I have always been able to see two choices when buying something and when I choose pay now there is no problem. They are trolling for more interest money if they can get it. Most business dealing in payment services are. Probly your own bank. I have hit the bill me later a coupla times when I was in a hurry. Backed out and hit the correct dot and blamed myself for not reading before clicking. I sell a lot of cubmobile wheels and most pay with paypal. Best thing since slices bread as far as I am concerned. I use their invoice system and most of the time have my payment for the wheels within a few minutes to a few hours. I have been using them for over ten years and have yet to have the first problem with them.

Yes.They owe me money but will not give it to me until I give them a credit card or bank account.Oh yes they will send me a check for a charge. Will not use them EVER AGAIN.

Ripoffpal started pulling some of this crap 3 or 4 years ago. I refuse to use them any more.

Like any other payment service you have to pay a fee to use them. Sign up to take credit cards and see what it will cost you. Every time you use a credit card to pay anyone the party that excepts your credit card not only pays a percentage but a monthly fee also to have the service.

Check into that and see who you think is the biggest rip-off. My bank just started charging 20 bucks when I deposit a Canadian check. I have three Canadian customers. So how mad should I get?

Seems like when it first came out, if I bought something... it kept popping up and bugging me. Now that I have used it some and refused the "pay later" option - it does not seem as persistent in popping up.

I used to be a member of Ebay and had purchased a few things from them over the years, but didn't use it much, so forgot user ID, password. I tried to contact them, got nowhere. OK, so tried to open a new account, and did, but when I tried to use my existing checking account and credit card through Paypal, they kept telling me already existed on another account...my old lost one. OK, I kept trying to work with them, begging them to work with me, but they wouldn't. So, I told them cancel my accounts, whatever they are or were. They said that if I did, after not telling me what they were, that I could never ever use my email address, checking acount, credit card with them, forever banished although I couldn't use them anyway, because they wouldn't work with me or let me use them anyway. So...Ebay or Paypal? There isn't enough money in this world to ever do that again. They forever banished me, and I forever banished... Sometime ago, I heard an add on the radio that basically said if not an Ebay member but would like to shop on Ebay, could contact them and they would provide a list of Ebay people in the area that agreed to be our (my) Ebay agent. Yep, I laughed that business must not be doing so well for them, and almost cried myself to sleep on their behalf, but forgot to and fell soundly alseep anyway.

When your accumulated Ripoffpal spending reaches $2000 they will [b:0561ab1c6f]demand [/b:0561ab1c6f]you give them your checking account info or they shut you down.
Thereafter, they will take any payments out of that account, and if a deal goes bad, you are just SOL.
It takes 2 pages of opting out to get them to use your credit card for the payment.

The easy way around it is to get a PayPal Visa credit card, and use it ONLY for PayPal transactions. I've NEVER been bugged about bill me later.

Y'all should have enough maturity and self control to handle a credit card. Sock it away in the gun safe and don't look at it. Cut it up so you can't use it for anything but Paypal.

It's like you want indoor plumbing but you refuse to have the pipes installed.

It's not a credit issue. I've had a Visa card for 25+ years and pay the full balance every month. Paypal is trying to become attatched to my personal banking account that bothers me.

They're trying to sneak in through the back door and make opting out quite difficult. They offer directions in an email reply but when I logged into my account the options weren't there.

If you want to transfer money any way other than from your hand to someone else's hand then it is going to cost you money. There is no way around it, and the more people who exchange money electronically, the more it will cost. See the pattern?

The only other option if you want to continue using Ripoffpal is to set up a separate checking account with a small balance to use exclusively with Ripoffpal.

You do [b:cdac5a729e]not[/b:cdac5a729e] want them to have access to your regular checking.

See the previous posts in this thread about them taking payments out of checking, and other posts about them locking accounts.

They stop bothering you if you get a paypal visa.

Less hassle than a setting up a separate checking account, and you've got an extra layer of protection from bad transactions through the visa system.
