Tractor commercial

Has any one noticed the Kobota tractor
commercials?
In one of them I wonder where they got that 70
year old snub nose Chevy truck?
In another, they borrow the sales pitch from the
Packard car commercials from yesteryear that
states "Ask a man that has one"
In the Case IH ad, they ask the question, are you
ready? And someone says, i'm ready!"
That one was taken from a commercial about the
electric system coming to the farms and rural
areas.
Can anyone think of others from the past?

Dad owned RED/WHITE 57 DESOTO FIREFLITE, and was proud of A poster he had on the wall of garage of a red 58 DESOTO,it showed the wings and tailites ,stating,"THIS BABY CAN FLICK ITS TAIL AT ANYTHING ON THE ROAD" ,,sadly that poster is now gone , and the fast DESOTO 392 is probably one toyota today

" Wouldn't You Really Rather Have A Buick"? " Here Come Da Judge" " Put A Dodge In Your Garage"! said by The Little Ole Lady From Pasadeena. " That Thing Gotta Hemi In It ?? " See The USA In A Chevrolet" " Not Your Daddy's Oldsmobile"

Dinah Shore's Chevy commercials come to mind.
Bert Reynolds had her in the sack from what I remember.

Then there is the Parkay margerine commmercials on TV from the 70s.

Wouldn't you really rather have a Buick?

Then, Id walk a mile for a camel........Yeah with my O2 tank strapped to my azz.

The Japanese copy about everything. They copied the British motorcycles, still do. Even Harley Davidson.
The Japanese toured the U.S. auto plants with cameras in the 70's before they built their own plants in the U.S. The first Japanese cars into the U.S. were junk from Toyota to the bottom of the heap. The Japanese do whatever it takes to sell their products.

To steal from one is called plagiarism, to steal from many is called research. Reverse engineering at it's best. The Chinese are doing it now.

Doesn't a Massey Ferguson commercial say something like It's not your father's Massey?

From the Oldsmobile commercial,It ain't your father's Oldsmobile.

That is true.
I remember the Japanese cars/trucks rusting away to nothing in a few years. The hush money that was given out to customers to cover up defects in Toyota cars finally came to light. The Japanese aint perfect. God knows that the Kubotas arent perfect either, a good friend of mine has one..........I am not impressed.

What I find sad is that there are no US Diesel engine mfgs that can make a small diesel engine. All the new compact tractors that have a diesel under 2.5 liters in displacement is made in Japan.

HD didn't copy well though. I saw two friends waiting at a red light, one on a Harley, the other on a Yamaha. The Harley was vibrating so bad the driver's arms weere shaking all the way to his shoulders. The Yamaha? As smooooth as a prom queen's thighs. (;>))

That is the Harley style and sound.I heard women like the Harley's, they are also known as a Milwaukee vibrator.

Must have been for gasket material, The Harley's don't leak oil as much as they used to. A friend of mine rode a lot of Japanese junk until he was able to move up to a Harley.

They didn't copy anyone back in mid '60,s when their small bikes took over sales here in USA. The simply filled a market gap that US companies were too smug to admit existed. The only reason they are now copying the "harley" look is because they have reallized that Americans are so superficial they will buy for looks before function.Harley is good example of that. When the baby boomers turn 70 , Harley will again be in dire straits. Had it , done it , sick of it!

Have a look at the lobe timing on the crank and you will see why. Same philosophy in the Johnny poppers....thump-thump, rest, thump-thump, rest. Get more with less if you can keep the flywheel rotating.

(quoted from post at 06:16:39 03/31/13) Actually - HD went TO Yamaha in the late 1980's for POINTERS.....

Right and Ford looks at Chevy and vice versa and New Holland looks at John Deere and vise versa and the list goes on and on.
