does anyone have a ford towing guide from the mid 1980's they are willing to scan for me? My local dealer has not been around long enough to have one. I would like to have a copy for my records.

thanks,

-Paul

There is a website out there that lists all makes and models. Cant think of the name right now. But for all the details, you are right the owners manual will have all the options listed.

If my 1981 F350 could only talk !

I have no idea how overloaded it's been at times. But surely overloaded.

What for? When you see what your truck is rated for and compare that to what you've been towing with it, you'll burn the towing guide and mail the ashes back to Ford with a long threatening letter.

Basically as long as you're not exceeding the weight ratings on your tires and you can move and stop the trailer to your satisfaction, you can tow it.

that may be OK for what happens on and around the Farm. But on occasion I use the truck to move between duty stations and since I have to file a report with the government to get paid my mileage and expenses I like to be all above board.

I have towed 5 ton on a goose neck trailer with my F250 7.3, and 4 ton on a bumper pull trailer with my F350 6.9. The 5 ton I pulled over three passes and didn't know it was back there.
