Watched the news tonight and the Springfield station said this has been the coldest march 25th in 35 years so where is this global warming at??? Also been snowing here off and on all day but seems to be pretty much melting as it hit

It passed us by. March 22 1938 it was 81 degrees here in mid Michigan. Ahhh, the good old days. To have been around back then when it was warm!

A year ago today, it was 81 degrees here in eastern Nebraska. High today was about 28 with snow flurries.

Its not global warming any more they're calling it climate change. Don't think they can make up their minds on what its called.

We just had 6" of climate change today. More snow than we've had all winter, now that it's SPRING.......

A year ago we were having 81 degree days. This year, 31 degrees (and 7 inches of partly cloudy). s.w.Pa.

From what I've heard global warming causes wider swings in temperature. Did we have 'global warming' the last time it was this cold 35 years ago? Jim

No, I am not smart enough to know if we are having a climate change due to man or a normal climate change. But I do know that selling carbon credits to US businesses while other foreign businesses continued to produce "climate changing emissions" was a new tax on US businesses and us the consumers. I can spell scam also. jmho gobble

In 1975 the doomsayers were telling us that by the turn of the century (2000) we would be in an ice age. Thoughout the history of the world the cllimate has swung up and down. This is the "norm". Short term changes simply cannot be used to project the longterm future.

I did not think our climate could be changing ,but can no longer ignore the facts. Year in and year out we set many more highs than lows. I kept a article from Farm Journal this winter, it reads, The past 12 yrs. have ranked among the 14 warmest in the 133-year period of recorded data. Unfortunitly that sure shoulds like a warm-up to me. Rod.

rich , i am bettin that march 2013 is the coldest in 75yrs.or more. ?? if the sun would not be a rising and setting in the same areas of the tree lines each dayas it always has previous years this time of yr. ,, i would wonder if the MAYANS were rite and the earth has slipped off its axis...

Rich, you are behind the times, it is now climate change, that way the libs can't be embarrased when the weather makes a fool of them. With climate change, they can lie more and make more people believe their garbage.

Late 1700s were very cold. Revolutionary War battle in W SC called the Great Snow Campaign because of a foot or so of snow. Europe during this general period had what was called the little ice age.

Its that dern climate change Algore invented (no that was the Internet lol).....When its hot they called it global warming but when its colder then usual, now its climate change lol Old mother earth has survived gazillions of years throughout volcanoes and ice ages and all other climate hot n cool cycles but now the libs worship at the altar of climate change. Ya gotta have pity on those "enlightened" and elite all knowing all wise folks and pray for them I guess

God Bless yall regardless of your beliefs be they right or wrong I reckon

So if climate change doesn't effect the weather, what the he1l,who cares. Let the climate change then.

WTF?

Ya,and written history along with evidence of the tree line in the mountains rising and falling and core samples if the ice sheets proves a 700 year cycle of heating and cooling. 350 years of heating then 350 years of cooling. It's all due to the sun pulsing. That's science, not politics. we've just hit the peak of 350 years of heating, now we're headed back downhill.

Warmer overall climate means wider, (odder) weather patterns. Storms that pack a punch with increased oceanic temps.

The thing that different now is the rate of global warming. I think we're in for a wild ride in the coming years.

There ain't nothing we can do about it 'cept hang on!

Climatologists seem to be in agreement that the effect of global warming on the [i:654c4848f0]weather[/i:654c4848f0] is not just hotter temperature but rather more extreme weather. Hotter summers, colder winters, more frequent and more violent storms. So it shouldn't be surprising at all that we're setting record high and low temperatures, or that "100 year" storms are getting to be an annual event.

A "100 year storm" doesn't mean that it'll only happen once in a hundred years. It means that the odds are only 100 to 1 that it WILL happen.

Does your daily paper have record highs and lows on this date everyday. Read them we have seen these things before and mite see them again 300 yrs ago who was here with a daily reading of the temps rain and snow.

I like it when they say average temps have rose or fell 5 tenths did they have a thermomenter that gave those readings with as new and modern stuff as we have today. It wasnt until the late 70s we had stuff to measure the oceans temps so there isnt any record.

The US and British navies would be surprised to learn that they haven't been recording ocean temperatures for the past 200 years. In fact, data from old ships' logs is proving to be invaluable to climate researchers.

(quoted from post at 20:57:30 03/25/13) A year ago we were having 81 degree days. This year, 31 degrees (and 7 inches of partly cloudy). s.w.Pa.

Are you near the mountains? We got maybe 3 inches and it turned into mush pretty quickly, then a dusting last night.

No worries... It's not like I have 140 acres of moldboard plowing to do or anything! Wasn't there a song that said something about "they're coming to take me away, ha ha, they're coming to take me away! to the funny farm!"
