How about this for our nightly feature? Let's see your
poorest/most worn out tire that is still used regularly.

No picture of them but I have a set on my W Speed Patrol that I was told well over 15 years ago I needed to replace them and they are still working just fine. The tread is coming off in more then one spot and you can see cords in those spots but they have been that way for over 15 years and just keep going

Like this?

Something like this? There is little/no tread in the centers anymore, and they are solid dry rot and cracks. Just waiting for them to blow since they are on the front of a loader tractor.

No pictures, of course, but when I was in high school, I worked after school and weekends on a farm about 2 miles away by gravel road. Gravel roads are pretty tough on bald tires, so Dad and I had a system- I had 2 spares in the back of the '50 Chev Sedan Delivery- when I got a flat, I changed it, and took the blown one home that night and put it in his rig, to take to work with him the next day. On his way home, he'd stop at Capitol Auto Wreckers in Tumwater, where they had bald tires that would hold air for $2, with trade (so they could scrap the rim). He'd bring my "new" spare home, and I was back in business.

Why 2 spares? In case I had another flat before he got my new spare. Which was known to happen. I got really fast at changing tires.

well, they"re not used daily, but the original tires that came on the 806 are now on the dual rims (have been since early 70s). not much tread, lots of cracks, but still hold air!

This is an 11L-15SL Goodyear on one of my feederwagons. Original tire from I think '91. This picture was taken in Sept. '11. The loose strip didn't make it home from the field, but the tire is still on the wagon, holding air.

These are on my Hesston 1091 conditioner. Towed it home from wisc. about 60 miles seven years ago..."course they were a tad better then :>))

there are some poor ones holding air around here.the old helix silage wagon i use for firewwod tires are 6 ply and bald ,,my barefoot 730 Case has been bus hawgn trees ,, so far , so good .. sooner or later a is gonna get thru .put some nice radials on my 430 Case couple weeks ago, after wading out thru the mudstuf to feed the cows hay,, up jumped the ol'd ev il!.. found a bent electric fence post going round and round in my nice GOODYEAR radial ,made it thru the tube ,. GRRRRWL!!...

Forgot to mention- the best part of the whole deal is that he never asked me for the 2 bucks! It was the early '60's, and I was making a buck and a quarter an hour- $2 would have put a serious crimp in my finances!

I took this one off my 9N this past summer, so it's not in use anymore.
It still holds air, and you can see some tread.
Tread is maybe 1/8 inch tall in the center.

This one is on my gravity box that holds my protein/mineral mix. Gets 3 ton on it every 2 weeks. I pull it in and out of the barn every night to load the skid loader bucket and around to the front of the barn to get filled by the feed truck. Its been like this for 2 years, just waiting for the tube to start popping out.

Boy, I don't know. I just read John B's thread below stating he was unable to post a feature thread tonight & would someone be willing to step in? So I impuleively posted this thread. Sure didn't mean to mess with any established pattern.

Please feel free to start a different feature thread tonight.

No,that's fine. Maybe a few will read this that didn't see that one and will get some pictures tomorrow to post tomorrow night.

So listen up guys, get some pictures of dealer decals, old or new to post tomorrow night. Tractors, implements, whatever. I've got a dozen that I took today, all but a few for dealers and even brands that don't even exist anymore.

Got one on an AC disc, down in the woods, Brought it home about 70+ miles, on dry-rotted tires, Got about 6-7 miles from home, and 1/2 the tread, 3/4 the way around the tire flew off. Still made it home, and still holds air. Is a firestone, go figure!

I ran this tire on the front of my farmall H for 6 years. It never leaked! I only replaced it because I got a great deal on a set of new tires. I can"t tell you how many flats I"ve fixed in those new tires!

The tires on my first car were so bad for awhile that I carried two spares. I remember getting a lot of flats during that period.
