OT ELECTRIC SHAVER.

I am going to quite spending money on mach 3 gillet refils they are getting to expensive for me. I want by an electric on but want one that will last more than six months. Does anybody have any sugesstions on a good electric shaver.

Thank You

I have a Braun 320S that does a good job and can be had on ebay for under $50 sometimes. It lasted about 9 months on the original cartridge and the replacement was around $20-25.

I've used a Norelco for years. You're supposed to replace the shaver heads every 6 mo but I've gone 2 years or more. I spray a little shaver lubricant on it once in a while. It smells like silicone. 30 bucks and up to replace the heads. My 2c worth

Braun, buy a top of the line model, it will be made in Germany and will last a long time.
I do not know how long I have had mine, 15 plus years of daily use.

have a norelco, for over 20 yrs, starting to lose sharpness on the [3]rotory blades, battery is starting to lose it's cordless charge, figure that i over spent it's usage, instead of spending 30 bucks for news blades, cheaper for me to buy a new one that holds a charge and have new blades,, they just don't last past 20 years anymore,,lol

I have used several of Remington, Braun, and Norelco. Always heads with holes in them & batteries bad. Then 14 years ago, my FIL died & he was tight, so his razor was Norelco corded (no batteries).........with his Norelco, I have never needed to replace a head or anything & still used it today!!!
Never another with batteries. Always a Norelco....if I ever need another.
Definitely a case where more money means more quality, does not hold!

I don't know the Norelco. Is it a rotary head like my Philips Philishave? You can't beat the old Philips rotary for durability. I got tired of constantly wearing out the foil heads on the Braun and others like it. Went back to a 20+ year old Philips that I had retired and it works so good I don't know why I ever tried anything else.

Dollar Shave Club!! Costs me $6.00 a month for 4 cartridges a month delivered to my mailbox by the good old U.S. Postal Service.
These razors cant be beat.. I used to be a Gillette guy until I got tired of paying $20+ for razors. I say give it a try,

I use an old Gilete adjustable, with Wilkinson double edge blades. It's as good as the Mach. You can get blades on ebay really cheap.

Norelco triple head
cheapest one on the shelf
clean it once in a while
when the blades need replaced buy a new one and throw the old one away

My wife read somewhere that the reason razors wear out is the edge of the blade rusts. I have been drying the disposable razors after each use and I have been using the same one for weeks. I do only shave my neck as I have a beard but I think there is something to it.

Norelco,,

the higher ends ones shave closer than the lower end ones.. and you have to keep the heads clean of buildup.. so clean them weekly will keep them shaving close and fast. Newer ones are water proof and you can rinse out the head, so they clean up quicker and faster. always wash your face before shaving will keep the oil out of the cutting-heads and make them shave better, longer. then I shave dry and clean, no additives/soap/preshave stuff to clog it. Works faster and closer that way. Got way too much to do to spend long time shaving.

If you've got a Dollar General store handy, you can get a 5 pack of generic mach 3 razors for just a few bucks. They last forever, much longer than the name brand stuff, and when they get dull, just throw 'em away.

I use a Panasonic mdl. ES8249, which in my opinion is the best electric shaver made. It"s not the cheapest made ($140.00+) but it will out perform anything I"ve ever tried. I won"t bore you guys listing it"s attributes, but it does everything right.

I recommend you quit shaving and grow a ZZTop Billy Gibbons style beard!

I use a Mach III, quit using electric as I always seemed to get ingrown whiskers from it.
