My two daughters took the old man to the movies tonight. Actually they went to the movies and let me tag along, and drive, and buy the tickets, and the popcorn, and the pop, and a few tacos at Taco Bell afterwards.

Lets see....the movie was in 3D...three tickets = 37.50
Bucket of popcorn and two pops (shared one w/two straws) = 19.00
A few Cool Ranch Doritoes flavored tacos and a churro = 12.00
60 miles round trip at 15 mpg x 3.65/gal = 14.60
Total = 83.10 Would have easily been 100+ had we went to a real resturant instead of fast food.
I think its cheaper to finance college than a movie night.
An evening with my girls, talking, laughing, teasing...priceless!

sometime these moment looked back on later in life can be huge gratefying memories! always love time with my kids good for you.

I know what you mean. I go to the movies once a year with my wife and daughter always on Christmas afternoon been doing it for the last 8 or 10 years. Like you I always get to pay. She will be 22 in a couple of months and graduating from collage and then off to grad school for two more years. She is our only child and I miss her every day. Your right those times are priceless expensive but priceless. Hope you and your girls have many more of them.

It is so nice to be a senior citizen. Our local movie house is village owned and a movie with popcorn is $4.00. That is only for the matinee.

You'll remember that evening for years.

Our daughter and I have always enjoyed each other's company. When she was a senior in high school, I was in a situation where I met the same gang at a local coffee shop at around 2:00 every afternoon. One afternoon our daughter joined me and we occupied our own booth separate from the rest of the gang.

The next afternoon, the owner of the coffee shop told me he thought it was beautiful the way our daughter and I had spent time together and so obviously enjoyed each other's company.

After some 15 years, I still remember that afternoon.

Yep,nothing better.I have 3 grown sons and while we rarely go out as a group I have had a few memorable outings with each that I really cherish.Farm Shows, machinery and used parts excursions or just splitting a pitcher at a watering hole.Great memories in every trip.Ever notice the conversation there and back is often the best part?

Think about this. When I was about 10 years old our local theatre had a Sat. afternoon matinee. A double feature movie and 2 cartoons for an admission price of 10 cents. A box of popcorn was 10 cents and a coke was 5 cents. Man what a Quarter would buy back then.

you hit the nail on the head "Priceless" enjoy them while you can we have the ocasonal visit from the grandkids now but all the kids have moved away cnt
