Cow mange?!?

We`ve got a cow thats due to calf about April 1st(280 days). I noticed a couple 3 days ago that she was rubbing her back side on the ring feeder. At fisrt I was thinking "we`re get`n close" to a calf! So yesterday, I got up close to her & she had rubbed perty much all the hair off patches on her hind legs. Looked even closer & hair around her tail was missing too. Between my wife or I, we`ll try to upload a picture or 2. We`d SURE appreciate the wisdom you folks have &, If I`m right that it is mange, what would be our next course of action?

Lice is really bad this spring. I'd get either some lice powder or a
pour on drench and treat her. Should take care of the lice. Treating
her is best, but she'll be fine. Once she sheds her winter hair new
hair will grow in to replace it.

X2 on the ivomec pour on. I use it on my cattle. It's cheap
and effective. Works on internal and external parasites.

HI! How are the girls doing? Both species! (for the rest of the YTMager's....you had to be there!

Hi Jim,

Well both have had there issues this winter, but things are improving. I'll shoot you an email soon and fill you in on the happenings of both. Thanks for asking!

I don't know if you ever watch The Incredible Dr Pol on TV,filmed here in mid Michigan, but they had a cow on there a few weeks ago that had so much blood sucked out of her by lice that she was too weak to get up. Get something poured on her.
