Weights - how much per pound ?

I've sold my tractor and my neighbor wants to buy the weights too. Neither one of us knows what they're worth and I am hoping to find out here.

There are three suitcase type front weights, about 60 lbs each more or less, and two rear wheel weights about 90 lbs each more or less.

What we would like is to have a dollar per pound price and then weigh the suckers. It seems like I saw somewhere that about 50 cents per pound is the going price but I'm not sure.

Can somebody please advise us.

around "this area", if you can get suitcase weights for a buck a pound your doing damn good, usually around a buck and a half

JOHN DEERE weights are worth half again as much as others because you get One and One half times as much work done with a JOHN DEERE!!!!!!!!

Central NY must be the wrong place to sell weights. I had CaseIH suitcase weights and bracket off a Magnum for sale @ 50 cents/pound. I finally gave them to a friend for less than that.
I have a pair of JD "Z" style rear wheel weights I've advertised for $150(about 50 cents/pound) Correspondence about them is a waste of time. They're still here.

I have never sold suitcase weights. I have sold IH wheel weights for $50 per weight at 140#, and Allis weights $85/pr. I had some Farmall A weights that were 130# if I recall right but I could only get $60 for the pair.

I have been seeing $.80 / lb here in northeast for suitcase weights. Wheel weights no where near as much, maybe half for exactly what someone wants.

I paid a buck a pound for some Ford weights, but think they were the last 4 in the state. I think it depends on how rare they are. That would be the maximum, $.50 would be the lowest, split the difference with your neighbor.

Hi
I would say depends what they fit and who wants them for that application. A base price would be no lower than scrap price per lb, you can haul them and garantee that amount. Then add a factor that the guy can use them for his application so that adds a bit more. then work it between you.

If I don't like my neighbor he aint gonna get the same deal as someone else might
wouldn't be the first time somethings left here in the scrap, because a guy was dumb when I wanted to do a deal in his yard on something, and he would not play the game. Then comes to me wanting a deal on things. what goes around comes around one day l.o.l.
