16 F above. I have about 180 tons of lime to spread. I'm kicking myself really hard for not tarping the piles back in December. I spread some last weekend when it was 72 degrees. It was like mashed potatoes and kept plugging up the wet lime spreader. I NEED to get that stuff spread, too. soil samples this fall said pH between 4.8-5.6 on 55 acres of fields. If it gets any lower, I will have to start growing car batteries. No wonder my equipment rusts so badly.

-1 for the first day of spring, and -11 this morning when I went to the barn...probably colder around 6:30-7:00. Ready for warmer weather!!

I had 0 this morning at 5:30 a.m. when I went out for chores. No wind at least. Spring time??

0 here this morning. First two calves born during the night. Both dead, cows had to go drop them in a snow drift instead of the straw I put out for them. Not a good start to calving season.
