Weather update and a funny cartoon!!!

Well we have snow on the ground and 6 degrees with 15-30 mph winds. The high today is suposed to be 25 degrees with a zero wind chill. Nice spring day!!!! LAMO

We're getting into the mid 80's here by late afternoons, but the soil isn't warm enough to plant cotton yet.

Reminds me of a woman who used to be on Board of Review with me. They grow pine trees for nursery stock. Board always meets the second week of March and if the frost wasn't out,or near enough out for them to be digging trees by then,she was a nervous wreck.

On this day last year, high temp was 85 here in northern Illinois. Today calling for a high of 21 with 20 mph winds.

We had a neighbor when I was a kid that went by the almanac for planting his garden. He would always plant his potato crop on good Friday no matter what the weather. I have seen him take the blade, remove snow, and plow frozen ground so he could plant. He probably never thought of starting a fire on the garden to warm it up first.
