Yesterday I posted that a friend was having trouble with his F250 no going into forward gears. The truck was at home with his wife and we are both 120 miles away at work.
I really hate to say it BUT we were all wrong with our suggestions. He went home last evening & this is what he found wrong with it---It was spinning in the mud when she tried to go forward.
He's noted a few problems with her in the past & I've suggested that she maybe is in the4 beginning stages of Alzheimers, but he doesn't really want to come to grips with that yet. At any rate, I believe he has a much larger problem than a truck that won't go forward, I think he has a wife that needs help. Thanks for all the suggestions, Keith

That is good and bad news, wish you the best on that. You can vent to us if you need to, have been there.

I really feel for your friend. It is not fun when your spouse has health/mental issues.

Here is funny joke about something similar that might make you/him smile.

Woman called her husband. Told him her car had died and would not start. She thought that there was water in the carburetor. He asked her what made her think that. She replied that she had accidentally drove the car into the swimming pool.

Tell him to try to remember the good times when the bad ones seem to over whelm him. Remember that if it where turned around he/we would want his/our spouse to stand by him/us.

Give the poor wife a break. There is a real good chance that E4OD is going to fail like that someday soon. They are known for that. You can dream about solinoids and wiring all you want but when you take it to the transmission shop they will tell you it will need to be rebuilt for $2500-$3000, the price you pay for driving a Ford with a nice overdrive in it. I am glad I got rid of mine before it drove me to Alzheimers. I have a ZF5 now and love it.

I had a brother do that once moving a school bus for me. He said he thought the transmission was slipping until he got far enough out to see the ruts a foot deep.
