I went past a agriculture auction sale set up, the other day, and the sale is tomorrow. It has been a while, since i had looked at, or operated a baler, and I was wondering, if anyone could tell me, any information, of these balers, good points, and bad points. Any information, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Bruce.

Very popular around here, and its hard to fault New Holland in their baler line. They'll put out a lot of hay in a day, but you need a 50 HP tractor to run them properly, unless they have engines. Many in eastern Washington alfalfa country have engines, and are pulled by pickup trucks instead of tractors.

If there are several of them, they are probably from a "big outfit" updating the fleet, and probably have had a zillion bales through them. Doesn't necessarily mean they're bad, but everything wears out eventually.

I"ll be running it, with a Fordson Super Major, roughly 65 horse power, more than enough power, to run it, and probably putting 60 acres, of hay through it, a year, at least 2 cuts, of hay, plus what ever straw, I will have to bald, each year. Thanks, for your input, it is greatly appreciated.
