At this point the engine kit of choice is the least of our worries. During dis-assembly, several things pointed towards a previous overhaul. When I removed the crankshaft and bearing inserts from the block, I found a very ugly weld on the #2 main journal. It starts right in the journal and goes up the web about 2 inches. I had 2 badly scored pistons, you guessed it, 1 and 2. After cleaning and measuring, the #1 and #2 lower liner bores are out of round. Long story short, I have a bad block and a cracked head. So I need an engine. If any of you guys have one or know someone who does, please let me know. Thank you.

Try Anderson's at Bluffton Ohio. They unusually have a lot of JD parts. They are not cheap but I have never gotten something bad from them. If they say it is good is usually is good.

I would also vouch for Andersons....A very well run yard with stuff nicely stored and prepared for sale.

I have a head and a block from a 3010. My block has no main caps so you would have to use your main caps and have it line bored which I'm guessing you would do anyways...

I'm in Tennessee and I'm cheap:)

Supprised with you being from over seas you would know about them. First delt with them back in the 60's. Haven't been up for several years now. About 30 mile northeast of me.
