You know it has been discussed on here many times and for the most part I do not even go to the PHOTO adds and look but do these guys get anywhere close to the asking price. About two pages over some kind of AC in Florida does not list the model number but it has paint with 3 coats of clear asking 25,000 not bad for a good pain job the there is a RARE John Deer 620 they are just asking 65,000 for. For 65,000 you get to say you have something no one else has.. is that the deal?

Kinda like the guy with the thousand dollar dog. Said he traded two five hundred dollar cats for it.

I guess you can ask whatever you want, but it's never worth more than what someone else is willing to pay. Couldn't sell the hope diamond to a guy dyiong of thirst in the dessert for $.50, but He's probably give you a million bucks fro a jug of water if he had it.

I guess the second part of it is I just wonder if one these guys are just trying to find the ONE SUCKER or they are just one of those guys in their own little world and really think that a clean D21 AC IS worth 21,000 . I have no problem with a man fixing a tractor up and painting it but it still is just worth so much and seems here lately the so much bar has really been up there.
Just a lot of fun watching.

Like has been said on here many a time, probably been told by wife to sell it but he does not want to so puts a price that no one will touch it with but he can say to her the ad is out there but nobody has called so will have to keep it.

It might be worth it, but I think he is a little high. It looks to be a D21, and those are worth a lot more than the typical Allis. Certainly not impressed with the single close up pic of the engine. He should have at least washed the dust off from it.

The buyer with the money always sets market price. Sellers will always go fishin' when the ad is free. The same could be asked of the auto dealer asking (and obviously getting) $40,000 - $ 60,000 for a Ford pick-up.And it IS JUST a pick-up. I don't care if they say King Ranch or King Tutt , if you pay that then you give up your right to complain about the price of anything , let alone gas or diesel.

Yeah.

At a local Chevy dealer today, while I was buying a 2000 Chevy X Cab short box for $3,500, my wife looked at a new Chevy pickup stickered at $61,000.

I, too, have been appalled at some of the prices asked in the photo ads. Is there a 4020 John Deere out there that is actually worth $35,000?

I think I'll keep my old truck, I can do a heck of a lot of repairs for the price of a new truck. Besides, mine's all paid off & with just over 235,000 miles I've just gotten it "broke in". They can keep their fancy beer cans, mine's made out of good iron & steel.

Some people are just really proud of what they have. I know of a guy who bought a 165 acre parcel for 165 thousand. The previous owner paid $35,000 for it and had to build a half mile of road to get to it. Put it up for sale with a Realtor for a year and could not sell it. Put it on an online auction and bid against potential buyers until it got up to what he wanted and found a sucker. Now this sucker and his partner built a small pole building on it and is trying to sell it to a bigger sucker for $250,000.00.

This property has twenty acres of high ground on one corner another five acres of high ground for the access getting to it and five more acres or so of high ground that we call hog backs running through it. The rest is swamp. Hunters from the cities come and pay a ridiculousness amount of money for this hunting swamp land and put a big smile on the TAX assessors face. One of the ladies in the assessors office told me it is the highest valued swamp land in Mille Lacs county, MN.

Put the tractor on a on-line auction, bid against potential buyers just like E-Bay, and a sucker will pay the price. You find more suckers at auctions than any other place.

He has accomplished exactly what he was trying to do. He has gotten your attention, and now you've put it out for that much more publicity. Free advertising. Why do you keep calling a potential buyer a SUCKER? Is it just because he might have the $$ to purchase what he wants. Maybe someone somewhere has always wanted a tractor like that, this one comes up for sale and he can have what he always wanted. My guess is you must want this tractor and you'd probably like to offer the seller a mind boggling $3000.00 for it. This kind of whining, crying and complaining about what sellers want for there equipment gets old. Like others on here have told you, if you don't like the price scroll on past it. Let the seller ask what he wants. If he doesn't sell it, it's no sweat off your back. DONE !!!!

Of course, the concept of "if you don't like it, just scroll on past" also works when someone has an opinion that you don' like. If you don't like complaints about over-pricing, just scroll on past it!

Two-way streets are supposed to run both ways -just sayin'...............
