Ok so I fixed the tiller I got last fall for a great big $20, needed a new belt. Tried to till the garden but every step I took I seemed to get taller. Guess I will wait till tomorrow and try again since I always try to plant the taters in March 17th

Been in the 40 or above here all week at least during the day so frost is no problem but we have had rain so things are muddy but guess that is not a bad thing since we are still behind in the rain gauge.

Does this mean you will quit complaining about it being too dry? At least for a little while! We have 2 feet of snow in N MN but they say it won't help the drought situation much. The ground is froze solid underneath so most of it will run off, except for the swamps and potholes. Our well at the cabin is a good indicator, it goes from flowing 50 gpm 2 feet above the ground to standing at 3 feet below ground.

Upper 60s here in Missouri right now. The weather guessers are calling for rain here Saturday night and Sunday which is fine with me we need it. Hope to get the garden tilled maybe a bit later today and tomorrow

(quoted from post at 14:03:01 03/14/13) I think it will be July before I can get to plowing. VERY wet!!

It could rain 12" today and I could be tilling my garden 3 days later. At first I hated the sandy loam but after I got used to it I love it, garden doesn't was out and not many issues with root rot. As long as you keep the water and fertilizer to it you can grow good vegetables.

Last year I had my taters in the ground in mid February. I hope to get them in Saturday or Sunday with some sweetcorn also.

hey old i am going to plant onions radishes and romaine lettuce tomarrow i am 40 miles west of you old neighbor bill

Plowing the rye under on 1 patch that will get pumpkins later. On another patch, planting potatoes, cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower. Getting another ready to put more blackberries and raspberries in. Got a window till Saturday to get some work done. The wind and warmth today really helped get the ground ready. About 15 miles north of Joplin. Mark

I checked the other day and I can't even order potatoes yet! Nor strawberries. The very first chicks are just starting to appear in the mail with high losses. 19F here this AM.

I have had radishes and lettuce planted for about a month now but it has been slow to come up. I have them in a cold frame. I also have some garlic planted

I still have family down that way but to tell the truth they could walk up to me and I would not know them. My mom was born down that way.
