Cab Door open at top

I have a Hiniker(1300 I believe)cab on a 4020 and the door doesn"t close completely at the top. There is a 1/2 gap at the top. I can"t see anything out of shape. It looks like from the handle down it closes perfect. Can I take the door off and bend it from the handle up without breaking any glass? Anyone have any tips for me? Thanks

at the AMC dealership we used to tweak car doors that way. Because the cab door is probably built stronger dont know if that will work. Bill

I would try it right on the tractor.

Put a block of wood in the center and push in on the top. It may take two blocks of different lengths to allow for the door swing angle. Push in a ways and then shut the door. Repeat until the top closes as it should.

I have done this on sprung car and tractor doors.

I also have one of those cabs on a JD 2640. The cab didn't have any doors on it, but I found two in a pile of junk here, and one fits great the other is a whole different shape door. Will have to find the correct one SOME day.

My White 7300 combine cab door was the same way. I did like IAGary said with the block of wood. Worked fine and no broken glass. I then put new seals all around it.
