Corn Planted!!

My renter got the corn planted last Friday. My greed tells me we"ll exceed that 200 bushel mark again this year. I love corn....or maybe it"s just the proceeds from it.
 
Farmers were planting corn in West Central Arkansas last week. We are located about 40 miles east of Ft Smith.
 
8" of fresh snow this morning with about 40" or so still on the ground. No corn goes in the ground UP here as the season is really too short to make it worth the investment. But Oats and barley will hopefully be in the ground by the middle of May.
 
I'm south of the mason dixon line and we have just now started sending out a little bit of corn to farms. Ground is still to wet and cold here though. I'm figuring in LA or south GA maybe or Texas.

Rainy, foggy, lots of snow ice melting. Ponds in the frozen fields. Don"t think we"ll be planting anything real soon. (Central Michigan)
 
Friend started Thursday. Sea Island south Of Charleston SC. Little early even for here.

I got some garden peas planted about 3 weeks ago, and I presume they have already rotted in the ground, since I'm not seeing anything topside.
 
My sump pump was runnning with yesterdays raining and melting, so it's a start.

Won't be any corn in the ground for another 2 months probably. Maybe 6 weeks if we're lucky.

Chris Where DO you work ? CO OP I was down last week and got the dozer loaded. Would have come by and checked you out. Got by the KUBOTA store and visited with PD Shelton.. About a 2.5 hr drive down there. Did you go to the Auction there Sat?
 
JM, no coop worker here. I work for Helena Chemical in Tanner, AL. I had to go up to the car lot a few minutes and noticed the crawler was gone. One of the guys at the car lot said you had already sold the dozer? The equipment sale is this coming saturday in town. I'll be there at least to look and see what they have. I'll see then if I stay or not.
