Doodlebug at a tractor show

Saw this neat little Doodlebug at a tractor show in Iowa last year. Thought it was pretty cool. Saw a lot of people taking pics of it.

While I was taking pics of these folks, my husband said, "Well, looky there - she's got a pair."... and sure enough.

Did you talk to them Sweetfeet?
That looks like a kit of some sort, to me any way.

Great Picture.
Thanks for sharing.

Nope, we would have liked too talk to them, but another woman was taking pics and interviewing them... jotting notes. Maybe a reporter - she was kind enough to step back and let me snap a few pictures.

That's almost up upgrade of what I drive now.

What's the large tractor in the background of the first picture? I would definitely wander over to check it out.

One fun thing each year at the Florida Flywheelers is seeing all the doodlebugs and allllllll sorts of home made ride around contraptions, Ive seen so many different things there cant keep track, there are literally hundreds of ride around devices......The lawn mowers are so freakin noisyyyyyyy,,,,,big Mules and gators etc are so big and wideeeeee (usually the dudes who stop in the dead middle of the aisle and get off and block traffic grrrrrrrr),,,,,,,,golf carts are at least quieter and smaller them mules n gators...

One of the more unusual was a six sided wooden picnic table complete with sun shade umbrella, coolers and small gas grille in the middle AND WAS MOTORIZED they drove it where they wanted and had their lunch lol

Plenty of 4 x 4 even articulated riding lawn mowers,,,,,Plenty of Whizzer motorbikes,,,,,,,,,a big wide zero turn on huge hay rake wheels n tires where the driver sat on a porch type seat that swings back n forth as he turns cats a$$es lol

Of course, if we dont like the ride arounds or the rules we can choose to not attend..but all those contraptions n doodlebugs are part of the fun sights for me

John T Coming to yall live from the Bluegrass Family Gathering Festival in Arcadia Florida. MY first wife said I sat in a chair n never got up or moved for 5 hours yesterday pickin my banjo in a jam session woooooooooo hooooooooooo

Oh, that one is cool too.

Wonder if I could get my husband to build a doodle bug...maybe, if they do not have to be licensed. Suppose you have to insure them though - for liability.

Dave in GA,

So far away that I can't tell at all. Will have to look in my pics of that show and see if I have anything more close-up.

Will have to post a few more pics from that show. It was at Forest City, IA. A great show... the most steamers I have ever seen at one show. Lots! And we did not even tour all of the buildings - saving something to look at this summer.

I enjoy the wide variety of doodlebugs that turn up at the steam shows here Western NY every summer.

They are a true testament to the cleverness and ingenuity of their creators!
