STAY IN HOSPITAL

Feel pretty good this morning so I am going to cover my recent hospital stay.
My son mentioned in his post that I had been having a rough time. He use is words to loosely. I was in big trouble. Did not know AM from PM When I woke up always ask if it was night or morning. I was having crazy dreams all of hr time. Most of them centered around my wife and me bring moved usually on flat bed pick up. One of these that was traumatic was a county attorney moving us across the county on pick up flat bed for a hearing that my son and the nursing home were not taking care of us. The amazing thing was that truck always had our beds side be side I would start to come out of the dream and there was my call button I would push it and the nurse would come in thr room and calm me down.
So son and daughters with nurses decided to find out what was going on I was on a lot of medicine one was pain patch that was notorious for causing dreams. Doctor would give no answers. Son fired him and nursing staff recommended another I was not told that it was the mental ward. I was told it was to run tests on my medicine. Smart son. Where else would they have a battery of physc and person knowing about the mind and medicines. They started drawing blood samples Thought they were going to pump me dry. They asked questions bout my dreams. The aides in this ward are not he best since some of the patient are there because of court orders their attitudes are not the best so the aides mach them. Here at the home they use a hydraulic lift to move me around. From my recliner to my motor chair, to bed the smallest aide can move me. At the hospital they use big aides. They just manhandle you. I came back to the home with a raw sore on my bottom 4x6 inches from them sliding me on the bed.
Well what has been the outcome.. Less medication, NO PAIN PATCH! Just Tylenol. The big thing that was causing my problems, was high concentration of Ammonia in my body and blood. It was causing my dreams and other problems
So what is the solution.

Flush! We all know what that means to a radiator. So they started me on medicine. My son tells me it is a ammonia binder. It has been a Royal Flush and I have entered that second childhood. I am known as THAT DIRTY OLD MAN. The Flush is slowing down and my last blood test said it was back to normal. So maybe I will become just s old man.

You are the only person I know that could have such a bad time and still keep a sense of humour. Good to see you getting back to normal. Stay away from flatbeds! Best wishes to you both, Phil

I recently went to the hospital emergency room for a hurt back, Got some pain pills, Took one, bad move. Spent 2 days building a house for a midget, couldn't get the drywall in because the walls were 42 inches tall. Other numerous building problems also. Where does that crap come from? Ellis

Gitrib,
It is always great to read your postings. I look forward to them. You are an amazing fella. I think you could teach a lot of us "youngsters" many things in life that mean the most to us. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Take care. We all love hearing from you here.

A friend was on 14 different medications and they were prescribed by three different doctors over 5 years with no effort to find out what was being taken and for what. At least four were incompatible and caused issues that were ""treated by some of the other meds. A new doc figured out that a fresh start was called for and there are only 3 meds now and much improvement. Glad you are recovering. Jim
