I wonder what they called it back in those days. I'm sure it was not a Pickup or Open Mini Van.
More than likely not $50K.
 
In some ways we have come a long way. But the bed on that wagon is about the same size as the one on my gator.
 
Gas in 1909 cost about 16 cents/gallon. In today"s dollars that would be about $4.00/gal
 
Was it that expensive? 60 yrs. later I was buying it for 26 cents / gallon. only a 10 cent difference. And I can remember "gas wars" between rival stations when it would go 16 to 19 cents. I guess that really illustrates runaway inflation and the devaluation of the dollar.
 
I notice the driver has some sort of blanket or lap robe to keep himself warm.

I wonder where the picture was taken. Pretty fancy building in the background. Government building? Synagogue? Church or library? Whatever it is, it's in a very nice neighborhood as evidenced by the stone gateway and metal? fence.

Also, it would interesting to see if someone could make a reproduction of the machine.
