Sort of O.T.: Rant at the haters

I, for one, am getting just a bit tired of some of the posters on here that are always spouting off something to the effect of "Scrap it!" "It"s junk." and the like.
I have found a lot of useful insights on here and have added some of my own when I felt it was appropriate. There are people on here that are trying to learn and some willing to teach.
Okay, This fellow got a nice piece and maybe wants to brag a bit. That guy might not know a thing about anything. Any interest/hobby that doesn"t welcome newer folks won"t have much of a History. And that is part of what this is.

Dave don,t get excited.. Been on here for years and there is always some one like that. In honest we all might be better of to scrap some things but overall this bunch on here is devoted to saving things. I am in one now where the guy sold it to me on a promise that I would not scrap it even though it would be worth quit a bit more as scrap iron.

well, i'm aspout tired of this spouting off also so anybody else aspout to spout off should consider what they are aspout to spouting off aspout. whew!

Do you have a specific example? There are probably some things that are not repairable and need to be scrapped, as some things are repairable.

Really don't care if people rant or not. I look forward to reading the posts every morning and evening. I have gathered a vast amount of information, though I rarely jump in, love the picture posts, never have seen so much of the country and such a great diversity of machinery. So everone keep it up

Dave, I understand how you feel, but you know the old saying, "Opinions are like A##ho##s, everyone has one and they are all a little different." So I just read their opinions and let it go. As has already been said, there is a lot of knowledge here. That and the pictures, the stories about how it used to be done, etc. is why I hang around. Many, if not most, farmers and collectors have a scrap area where most of it may be ready for the salvage yard, but it is just hard to part with it. Besides, if you get rid of it, you may need it next week.

I always thought the only reason to get rid of any was to make room for more you plan to buy at the upcoming auction.

You're trying to take over this site's "moderator position" a little early in life aren't you?

Guess I"ve been around too many "Dock Pirate/Pen Hooker/Shady Deal/Phantom Bidders/Shils/ huckster types over the years.
Not bucking for the moderator gig. And yes, I understand that it takes all kinds. Thanks for letting me vent a bit.

most pop off valves automatically reset themselves after venting and pressure is relieved. that is from experience. i like it here because we are all human, all different; yet all alike.

That's usually the case
