What do you miss from summer?

These are some of the things that I miss,I miss sweetcorn too, What do you miss from summer?

I miss sweetcorn, fresh peaches, apricots, Stanley prunes, picking asparagus, digging potatoes, canaloupes.

From when it was 100°+ every day and no sign of rain? I don't think I've missed a thing yet. And we still have not had any good rain since July 4th. Oh yeah, it was a beautiful day here today. Not as hot as summer but warm and dry. It will be summer again soon enough.

Haying and the vegetable garden, other wise I like the cold and snow, hate 90 degree hot humid hazy weather! I'll take 16 degrees any day over that.

I miss the cool of the evening when the sun has set after a hot humid day.

Vito

I miss the smell of dirt and the long days. This getting dark at 5:30pm don't cut it. And I miss the smell of nitro, a whiff of nitro, tire smoke and coffee at US-131 at 9am.

All previous mentioned but we miss seat time mowing a few acres then sitting on the swing watching the cows come to the trough at dusk then walk back into the pasture for the night, spent many a nice evening after dinner with a beer watching their routine then heading in when the bugs begin biting

the semi annual day at the drags with the garden state mustang club, tractor pulling, plow day and spending the day with the wife at ocean grove NJ.

In the summer ,I don't miss feeding cattle in the mud & snow, I don't miss calving in the mud & snow.In the summer I have time to play with old tractors cause cattle are out to grass.I'm very tired of winter, mud & snow.Good news is the sun might shine tomarrow. Even better I have an auction with lots of old tractors to go to.

Fresh strawberries, fresh fruits, my garden, fishing, seeing crops growing, the smell of cut hay, just for starters.

Larry

Truly fresh produce, open windows, and most of all... wandering through junkyards, tractor shows or auctions with my camera.

Sweating my butt off in the heat, flying down the road with a fully loaded hay wagon trying to beat the thunderstorm that's moving 10mph faster than me.

all - while bending my free arm into weird contortions trying to get the 50 mosquitoes with their little beaks poked into my back draining my blood.

Yes, I'm THAT sick of winter that I actually miss it.

(although I have to admit, it's been another very mild one and not all THAT bad)

I DON"T miss the Deer Fly"s!
We"re in the Mississippi river valley, in Western Wisconsin, a mile from the river, and from the
"Upper Mississippi Fish and Wildlife Refuge" and
the "Trempealeau National Fish and Wildlife Refuge" The Deer flys swarm about you so bad, for
6 weeks, in the summer, that you can hardly work in the garden!
