Who is paying the freight?

I recently purchased a neck warmer for $1.25, free shipping, on ebay. Yes it came from Shen Zhen, China via air mail. It weighted .05 KG. Took about a month to get. Thought it was shipped on a slow boat from China.

Who is paying the freight on an item that came from half way around the world? I even had to go to the post office and sign for it.

My guess is they issued them to deckhands to wear on the boat coming over. Then made them turn them in when they docked. Then the pony express rider wore it till he got to your location. You actually paid a quarter for it and the dollar was to wash it.

We all are. Part of the lopsided trade agreements.

Freight for my plastic material from across the pond to Akron Ohio = .05/lb. Cost from Akron Ohio to me in North West corner of Ohio = .06.

That was a few years back. Shipping container is probly the same because of the trade agreement but much more from Akron to me.

Called My Ohio Rep and he didn't even know it. They hqven't been reading what they vote for in a long long time.

They would read the title of a bill calling for free chicken manure for all farmers and would never see in the bill that to get the free chicken manure that the farmer would have to buy and feed the chickens.

Probably cost then a couple of cents to manufacture. And just because they said Air Mail doesn't mean that's how it crossed the Pacific.
