I always thought I grew up in the wrong time period!

"Sloppin' the hogs".
We never had more than two to "slop" as we grew them only for our own use.
How many little girls today would be out there enjoying a day with Grandpa (I assume) on a wagon load of rotten vegetables? LOL

When we ground feed it was my job to make sure the hogs didn't chew the valve stems off any tires. Wonder how long it would take a hog to chew up a spoke on a wheel?

I think you are right; that looks like ear corn.
Those were probably well fed hogs and produced some really good pork.

Threw many scoop shovels from the crib of ear corn over the fence to hogs. So many shovels per group of sows.
