Youngstown. Where are the other Ohio Fellas? Anyone going to the
Tallmadge pull? There will be tractors there. {tractor related}.

I grew up in 44255 (before there were zip codes). It's near Mantua, OH, about 10 miles northeast of Kent.

Left home at age 17 - never really went back - but I still count it as home.

Hope you can get together.

I live in Massachusetts, but have some good friends in farmerstown I stay with at least two weeks a year.

so I guess I'm a part-time Ohioan.

Kind of interesting story. There was a guy in town here who after the war, in the late 40's, wanted some draft horses.

People told him his best bet was to see the amish in ohio - which he did.

He ended up establishing a good relationship with a few amish families while he was out there, and he'd often go back to visit, or they'd come out this way to visit.

Over the years, he'd bring a friend or two with him and further connections developed.

He's since passed on, but the friendships have been passed on to the younger generation. A younger friend of his brought me out and got me into the circle.

I bring my children out sometimes when I go, and I see them getting very friendly with the kids out there.

It's nice to think this strong connection of friendship will continue down across even more generations.

If nothing else, it's a great experience for my kids - I can prove to them that there is life without electricity, Xboxes, and iphones.

Hey Jim, do you know the Haumschilds? Both Mike and Jean taught at the high school and all four of their kids went there. Or Nick and Patty Fisher? Nick runs the funeral home there in Warsaw. Know them all through showing llamas.
 
halfway between Wapakoneta and Jackson Center. With just zip codes how do I determin where you mean?
