OT anything farm related we can go see near myrtel beach

friend is headed to mrytel beach this weekend on short notice.any one have any ideas where to go while wife is at her conference?be their over the weekend.Tractors or dealers around? thanks

Take a little drive up to Calabash NC (it's not far from Myrtle Beach, just a couple miles north of the state line) and see the fishing and shrimp boats that dock there. You can buy seafood fresh off the boats there too if you are inclined to cook some up. Its an interesting little town and a lot slower pace than Murtle Beach.

I live about 25 miles west of Myrtle Beach. There is not much Tractor related in the area. There is very little field work going on this time of the year. IF you were coming to Myrtle in the summer, you could travel thirty to forty miles west and see many different crops growing (cotton, corn, bermuda hay, tomattos, watermelons, squash, tobbacco, cantelopes, soybeans, grain sorghum etc).

Some places to go with the wife, boardwalk on the south end of the strand. If you have time during the day Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet (20 to 25 miles south on US17). Broadway at the Beach (large shopping complex), Barefoot Landing (shoppimg).

Not farm related but we have a son that lives at Hartsville S.C. about 2 hrs. from M.B. Every time we go visit we go to M.B. and eat sea food great food and good places to eat.

Be sure you check the security on your hotel room if you use one. One of my business associate's room was robbed while we went out to play on the beach. Seems that since the elevator was right across from the desk, and the attendant paid a lot of attention to us as we left, there was speculation that a connection existed. The missing $400 was not speculation however. Course he was a dumba$$ for leaving money in his room.

On my room, upon doing the initial inspection, I found that the windows that made up the front of the room facing the hall had several latches ajar. Coincidence? Not to me. Course I never had a hotel room with opening glass windows across the front either.

Just be alert, regardless of where you go.
