E85 and knock sensors

I am continuing to research fuel injection technology while I am laid up. It appears to me that the E85 cars have an Ethanol sensor to determine E85 mode.

An engine will have a resonant frequency for knock detection that is based on the diameter of the bore and the RPM. The different sensors are tuned for ranges.

The EFI controller has inputs for both of these, so it is on the list to look at.

Variable Fuel sensor in my Chebby .
Manual says.
The variable fuel sensor monitors the fuel composition in the fuel feed line. The sensor contains a variable coaxial capacitor and electronic circuitry to generate a signal used by the ECM to adjust engine controls for energy content of the fuel.
