Another Good Farmall Video on the 560

Dadhad a 350 and 3-16 plow he used with it.One spring it was real dry and he could not pull the plow with the 350 (traction problem)I went out to help him and we borrowed the neighbor's 560 gas to plow with. It may have just been that trctor, but I was very disappointed. With the 3-16plow, it was second gear and once ina while I had to pull the torque. Absolutely no lugging power.I never thought much of the 60 series.

We had a 560 Diesel dad bought new in 64, it was a left over from 63. He later bought a 460 gas. The difference between the two was astonishing. The 460 gas was no comparison. My uncle drove our 560 Diesel and he went out and bought one then too. If I bought either one today it would have to be diesel.

I drove a very well used 560 on a baler a few times. It was a very smooth tractor with a good sensitive governor. This one had seen thousands of hours on a baler as the drawbar was worn about half its thickenss from tyhe constant motion.

Biggest problem witht he 460 and 560 gas not having any pulling ability was with the governor. By the time it opened up you were dead. On the dynamometers you could relax the load enough to let it take ahold and then they would get with it. Not so in the field. They changed them governor's about three times but never did get them to work very well. When they came with the 706 gas and 656 they finally had a responsive governor that would put that engine to work.
