6210 john deere or a cx 105 mccormick

A friend of mine has a Mccormick 120 and has had some problems with it, don't remember what they were, but caused him pain as we are about 200 miles from a dealer. A neighbour has had 4 JD 6400-6410 tractors and they have put up with an incredible amount of abuse. He is rough on equipment and almost never does preventative maintenance. The 1st one make 15000 hours before it needed an overhaul, then burnt 2000 hours later due to dust buildup, the second one burnt at 10000 hours because he didn't blow 3 inches of grain dust off it, the third just went in the shop at about 20000 hours, and the fourth he has only had for about 2 years, so it is still good.
However, the JD 6210 is only about 66 HP and the Mccormick should be about 80HP. Also, which dealer do you want to deal with because they all break sooner or later. If my friend had bought a JD or Case IH he would have had dealer support right here instead of far away.

John Deere 6210 Power:
Engine: 90 hp [67.1 kW]
PTO (claimed): 72 hp [53.7 kW]

McCormick Intl CX105 Power:
Engine (net): 102 hp [76.1 kW]
Engine: 102 hp [76.1 kW]
PTO (claimed): 83 hp [61.9 kW]
Drawbar (tested): 74 hp [55.2 kW]
PTO (tested): 86.2 hp [64.3 kW]

Both are good tractors...I'd take either.

I am a fan of the CX tractors since the CIH days, but the challenge on McCormick is ensuring you have parts supply, the early CX McCormick were identical to Case IH so most parts should fit, but the later CX McCormick (i.e. Xtrashift) aren't 100% the same...
