Love them pictures. We had a box wagon like that tell dad put car axles under it and sold the horses. Had a school principle that had a dodge truck like that.

Great photos. A look at the lives of many of our grandparents.

No wonder grandpa stayed so fit and trim - though he ate a lot, he worked A LOT. Grandma made huge meals all day long (with a couple coffee-break snacks in between meals)...starting with breakfast of:

oatmeal
toasted homemade bread - buttered and jellied
fried bacon or ham
fried eggs
small glass of milk or orange juice
coffee
and fresh or homecanned fruit to top it all off

Could never eat all of grandma's breakfasts when visiting them... we usually just had a bowl of cereal at home.

Yes that is a composite of the early childhood I remember. Wet those hands and start hand milking but don't try to keep up with Mom. Shovel that ear corn to the hogs. Then Shovel all the components into the wagon, then take to the stationary hammermill, then shovel back off into the feeders. Oh yeah when you are done grind up some corncobs for bedding fpr the pig barn, and shovel it up into the loft while getting most of the dust back on you and in your throat. If time allows , which of course it should, hand load a few loads of manure into the spreader and hope the apron does not break or you will unload it back off while moving the old tractor a few feet forward every few shovel or fork fulls. And of course it is now time to milk the cows again! Oh yes the good old days

Tractor picture could be foreign, maybe English. Never seen a plow with the trip wheel in the furrow. Just my guess.

1954 Dodge pick up, possibly later.

KEH

Yep. I got to drive one of those as a kid. Battery was in the passenger floor if I remember correctly. Hood was kind of a pain, but pretty cool old truck.
