Thank you retired farmer, nice comment as i can see better as well. And yes to the others i was being sarcastic and yelling. I was stating the fact that people, go buy manuals !!! Then as a question, you might know what your talking about!!! I restore 3-8, 2n/9n/8n and 600 series a year, This is my passion, i just cant believe that people own what they call their passion and yet know nothing about it or let alone remove a part off it. Sorry to upset some, and your welcome to the others

There is a wealth of information on the web. I've been puzzled over a magneto I've been working with for the past few days so last night I did some googling and found pages from an origional factory service manual for this mag that I could download and print. Maybe I got lucky on this one, but the information is out there usually. Sometimes I do get into something a manual doesn't cover, such as the operational characteristics of a certain part. That's when this site comes in real handy. Jim

Man you got that right! All you need is the patience to sift through it. I've always said that designing something, for instance, is not too hard if you understand that someone, somewhere, sometime has not only done most of the work but has the parts you need available. It's just a matter of finding them/it which is the hard part made easier by the Net.

craigss ,
There is no mention in my manual of removing the accorn nut before removing the lift cover on a Jubilee.

No one forces you to read any of this stuff that seems to make you confussed.

Ya the IH mag manual is one I do not have. I have 2 for the Fairbanks Morse type. I do how ever have an IH mag laying around in my shop that I picked up who knows where or when

I would suppose that some who buy old tractors don't even know there are books for them. They may not be mechanically inclined, just want a tractor.

BTW Jim

If you could make use of a test stand I have one over here you are welcome to come over and use.
