Pics of the old Deere

We just got a new printer today, has a scanner,so I scanned a few pictures of the 4040 Deere that we bought new in 81. I think these were just a year or so before we traded it off with close to 13,000 hours on it. It was getting to be a frustrating money pit by then.

You must be close to the lake house the wife and I owned in six lakes. I see you talk about Stanton a lot. My friend owns quite a bit of acreage in Carson City along 57 towards 66. Do you go to the Ionia tractor show and pull in June?

Our place was on the road to 1st lake boat launch. If you missed the house 150' you would be in the lake right down the boat launch.

How was that old girl on fuel? My neighbors got one and its a sow. My 1135 would work circles around it all day and use half the fuel.

Ya,that 1850 Oliver is better on fuel than the 4040 was. Depending on what I was doing from cutting hay to tillage, probably five and a half to seven gallons an hour.

Yea not a real good comparison. The 4040"s match would be a 1100 or 1105. rrlund, good to see you had a deere from the other green, lol. Good looking tractors, 2-135 is a little bigger than the 4040, which engine is in it? Hercules?
