I was down in Amish country at a place named Charm, Ohio where there is the most fantastic lumber company operated by the Amish. Great PLace for all kinds of exotic woods, some for as moch as 500$ a board foot from all different parts of the world. NOW THE IMPORTANT PART, on the way in Charm is a tractor place operated by an Amish man and he has lots of old tractors and part and lo and behold, A 1948 FARMALL H cried out to me as I passed saying mister., "please take me home and treat me nice, I will serve you well" Ya'll know the rest of the story. Being a softie I let it follow me home. I miss Dave 2. Wish he were back.

I would guess Keim Lumber is where you went ?

Is that tractor place on the road to Charm and right on a curve ? I'm not sure if it is the same fellow but many years back this guy used to truck in the big JD 2 cyl. diesels from out west to resell.

Were the old tractors on steel? I miss Dave2,too.Always enjoyed his 'contributions'.Never quite understood what all the 'uproar' was about, never thought that any of his stuff offencive.

So is it on rubber or steel then? The old order Mennonites here run everything on steel, tractors, skid steers, even riding lawn mowers. They have new front wheel assist tractors on steel even.

I miss Dave also .. he did some good here... even God forgives ...
Not unusual for Amish to have tractors to run stationary balers.

(quoted from post at 08:56:17 02/12/13) All of a sudden he was more popular than a young widow with an 80 acre farm. lol

They always speak well of someone after there gone.
If you go to a funeral and they speak badly of the begonya  Its bad..

OK..Im leaving now :? :? :? :?

I wouldn't dare threaten to leave. The internet would be on fire with so many messages of "good ridance".

I'M from Wadsworth just SW of Akron. Grow up on farm near here. Used to be in Murphy NC where I had a 51 M and a 41 A I redid. Now on to the H. It has everything on it. Couldnt ask for more. And it called me can you imagine.

Yeah, thats the place. He has a bone yard up on the hill but the fellow there now must be a son because he is abound 35-40ish. They were working on several very large JD in the shop. Nice people I guess
oh, the tractor is on rubber. Said he bought a collection of 40 tractors several years ago and this is one of them.

For those that are curious you can google Keim Lumber and there's pictures of the place. I've never seen any other place like it.

I bought lots of barn siding and 1x12 pine for flooring from Keim for the log house I built about 20 yrs ago. Did you stop to eat as the Amish restaurant just across the road? About the best Amish place I've found up there.
