Service Tire Pressure Moniter Light

I have a 2007 GMC Canyon with 119K miles. I keep getting SERV TMP light coming on intermitantly. I have reset sensors on each wheel several times with no results. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Same Problem, it was the air pressure. Just make sure that your spare is inflated too most now have a tire pressure switch. took me a few weeks to figure out which tire was low on Moms truck.
And as for tractor related-im sure the truck is used to haul tractor parts, or a smaller tractor!

Farmall,
Your IP shows you in Indianapolis. If the temperature is dropping enough it they may be setting due to pressure drop over night. You should be running 34 or 35psi on the door plate.

If those drop to 27 or 29psi they will set the light, driving will warm the tire up and they will go off. 5 extra psi in the winter will help.

On a 2007, there is not a TPM on the spare.

Hope this helps some.
Rick

thanks for posting here, nearly all of us have tire pressure sensors and limited experience with them. my 08 gmc will light at 29 or so lbs. i typically air mine to 36 lbs. personally i believe it to be a good addition to vehicles.

My tire guy said the batteries in them are going to last about 5 years. Guess what? They are starting to see some, Like my Jeep which is a 2008.

It's just another light on the dash to give you a reminder of where this world is going. Wear it with pride or chase it with $100 dollar bills.

I forgot to add that it's probably the same group of people that love the earth who invented this contraption as the ones that started the global warming nonsense.

And sold their TV station to Al Quada.

They work pretty good for me. Radial tires, especially the new low profile tires, are pretty tricky regarding inflation. You can be seriously underinflated without seeing it. I have seen my pressure be as low as 15 lbs, before I noticed it. The tire pressures reported by the sensor matched my gauge reading dead on.

If it says service tire pressure monitor then you have a fault in the system and needs to be checked with a scan tool. If it says check tire pressure then you have a low tire.

Thanks for posting that here, the one on my wife's car seems to be acting up too so it is good to get some others' experience. There was a post recently about hitting radio buttons to turn off a warning.

The tires on my Isuzu Amigo barely start to look low when they get to 10 PSI.

But it"s got 31X10R15s on it, too, and calls for 26-29 PSI.
