Valentine's Day!

It's coming up fellas.

Don't forget - you'll be subject to six weeks of cold shoulder!

Years ago, I stopped off to buy a VD card after work on Valentine's Day, and there were six forlorn looking guys staring at a card rack with only one card on it. I looked at them, and I looked at the card, and finally walked over and picked it up. It had a boot print right across the face of it.

Tragedy can strike! Don't wait 'til the last minute!

All mine wants is a candy bar. We swore off buying junk food from gas stations, so it'll be a treat. Her bday is a week later and she wants to go to her favorite restaurant...where your meal is free on your bday.

Several years ago I stopped in to get a V card for my wife. I always choose one that says how I feel. A guy I knew was there and just grabbed one and told me they are all the same. I kept looking and a couple minutes later he came back with a sheepish look on his face. He had picked up one that said Happy V Day on Our First Valentines Together.
He had been married many years.

I make dinner for my wife every Valentine's Day. I've done broiled salmon, lamb shops, steak, etc. with all the trimmings. Did chocolate covered strawberries one year and often look for raspberries or blackberries. I've tried fried apples, bananas, and most of the vegetables steamed.

I've hidden gifts for my wife for years on my somewhat cluttered workbench---she's never found any of them. Valentines day this year was the first, she was showing a friend some jewelry boxes I made to a friend and snooped, now I have to buy something else!

Yeah, I know it's just another day, but I like to make a big deal out of it. She treats me like a king at all times, and I try to treat her special every day, but I call it Valentine's Week. So far we've eaten out twice on Sunday, once on Monday, and I plan to take her out at least once each remaining day this week. I might be flat broke when the week ends, but she knows I think she's special. 46 years together this June. And that's not counting the five years we dated, starting in the eighth grade. I fell in love with her the first day I laid eyes on her in the seventh grade. Took me a year to get her attention. . .

What a sap!
