V-6 Detroit, runs good , no 3pt. or pto.I like the tractor but the seller dont know what its worth and thinks around $5000.00-$7000.00 but not sure.I did read the story about Mr. Jackson and googled Jackson but not a whole lot come up. Anyone know much about them or what it maybe worth...thanks to any input

Lot would depend on what you want to do with it. If you are thinking about farming with it could be easy or hard to gets parts for depending on how many parts were made "in house" and how many wee off the shelf.

Kewl old tractor! Never even heard of them before! Whats the dozer in behind it? AC?

Never heard of them before either. I would guess the town is Edgely, ND. If its running good I don't think that price range is unreasonable, probably swing on the tire condition. I'll take the yellow Massey next to it.

Looks like a Wagner. Deere had them build some for them, sold some as a WA14 and WA17 if memory serves me right. I'm thinking they had some kind of exclusive deal with them so they couldn't sell any except as a Deere, then Deere came out with their own design in the 8010 and essentially put them out of business since they couldn't build anything else, and Deere had no more use for them.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought the Wagner came in between the 8010-8020 and the 7020. Story I heard was the 8020 was such a flop that Deere discontinued four wheel drive tractor sales intil the 7020 was well tested and ready for the market. The Wagners were offered during that in-between period so Deere could have a four wheel drive to sell. I saw a W14 on a dealer lot when I was driving through Carrington, ND maybe 20 years ago before I knew anything about them. It didn't look like any Deere I'd ever seen before but it was green and yellow and had the Deere name on it. When I got home I researched it. There was a Wagner/Deere at the Butterfield Mn. threshing show a couple of years ago so I had the chance to take a peek at it up close. Jim

That could very well be the case. I just know Deere pretty much put them out of business with that exclusive deal. I'd heard before that the 8010 came out in 58 by one account, but that just doesn't sound right to me at all. Do you know? I can't feature them coming out that long before the 4010.

I remember looking at a new one on display at the state fair in Minot ND. I seem to remember them being red or yellow. I wonder if the green /yellow is a repaint or if Jackson would paint them what ever color you want ?

It is an "assembled" tractor made from generic truck and construction / industrial parts.
Jackson built the frame and chassis of all their stuff. He tended to overbuild stuff so his machinery is were very heavy.

After he died of cancer ? I remember his wife and crew ran the place for a while building a small wood and fabric airplane using a snowmobile type engine.

The Wagoner WA-14 and the WA17 where built 1968-1970. They where between the JD 8020 and JD 7020/JD 7520.

The JD 8010 was only built in 1960. There where only 100 built. They had transmission problems. All of them but one was shipped back to the Waterloo Factory and had the transmissions replaced. The JD 8020 was just the JD 8010s after the replaced transmissions. The one JD 8010 that did not get the transmission replaced is in the Keller collection. The revamped JD 8020 where sold from 1961-1964. So JD did not have a Four wheel to sell between 1964 and 1968.

Actually the JD 7020 and JD 7520 had more issues than the JD 8010/20 did. They had chronic rear end issues.
