gas volatility enhancer

Is there an additive on the market to keep the gas volatility up to a decent level after being in the gas tank for a few months? Having trouble starting my back up generator after it sits for a month??? Thanks

I've always used sta-ble and premium gas. I still had trouble with both my generators a few weeks ago when they were needed. I ran some seafoam through them and I beleive it helped. I have drained the carbs and the gas tanks on both when I got done. I use stihl oil in all my two stroke stuff and never have problems with them. The stihl dealer claims their oil has additives in it. Sooo I would recomend Sea-Foam.

I've never used any Sta-bil or Seafoam but, for better or for worse, I start all of my small engines periodically through the off-seasons and just let them run for a little while. I try not to let my generators or lawn mowers go un-started for more than a month or so at a time.

It might not really make a difference, but it seems to work for me.

I have been running the carbs dry till needed and so far this has worked for me . My junk snow blower started on the second pull this season with last season's gas (yea i was shocked) . But that gas was over a year old but it did not have and al ki hol in it as it was straight gas . On the farm we have been having a few problems with the gas since they made the switch last year .

If it's summer gasoline being used in the winter, then yes it will be more difficult to vaporize.
Still I don't see it as being a concern.
Is there an actual starting or running problem ?

The best I have found is Briggs & Stratton gas stabilizer. They clain over 2 years life when using the heavy "storage" dosage.

It helps if you can store the gas in a pressure sealed container in a cool place. Helps prevent the evaporation of the light ends of the fuel.

A sealed tank makes a huge difference. a relative has a gas engine powered post hole digger. The thing is designed to lay flat after use, so the fuel filler cap has a little screw tight vent to prevent leakage when the tank is laying on it's side.
When in storage this screw vent is closed and amazingly, the gas stays fresh rfor years in that sealed tank !!.
Maybe a small engine shop could get you a sealed cap with screw tight vent to fit your generator ??
