A nurse friend reminded me tonight that it is not a good idea to operate rotating equipment while on pain medication.

I guess that I will just have to take it easy and wait this recovery out. No unsupervised lathe work for me.

was taking meds after dental surgery, needed to get stump out , jump on backhoe, dig stump out no problem, backed up to head to shed to park it and somebody had moved house closer to stump than I thought, wham, wife said I told you not to use that while on pain killers!! But she was nice enough to let me fix damage I had done

HA - similar thing here.

Dental work - pain meds - went into work, pulled up to the building in my usual parking spot, somehow misjudged the distance to said building - broke a nice big hole in the cinder block wall.

embarassing.

Swung into the parking lot and just very touch the pickup bumper in front of me. NO PROBLEM no one will see. Until I looked up and two guys setting in it. Good news they were Farmers too.
