Farmall C Clutch

I use my Farmall C to plow snow and run the manure spreader once in a while. Lately the clutch seems goofy. The first 3/4 of the draw on the clutch are nothing then the last 1/4 is engaging. how do I make a adjustment so the whole pedal is engaging. Thanks

Maybe the free pedal needs to be set and when was the last time you greased the thro-out bearing. Has the weather been cold?

it has been very cold. I ve never greased the thro-out bearing. Ho
w dp you set.the free pedal?

There is a plug in the bell housing on the left side. Look in there and you will see the zerk for the thro-out bearing it also greases the sleeve that the assy slide on. Dont get carried away overgreasing give it like 5 pumps. I would do that on a warm day when the tractor is warmed up. Any good grease will work. Remember the bearing only turns when the pedal is down. You should have 1 1/2 in free play before the bearing enguages the ears on the pressure plate.

Thanks!!!! I will try it snd keep you posted!!!

Gary you mean 1 1/2 free play on the pedal not the bearing. I think though the free play is only 3/4"

If what you are saying is true. The first 3/4" the pedal is free which means "Free Travel" is fine. But if the clutch is only engaging the last 1/4" of pedal travel when you let it out then the clutch disc is worn thin and needs to be replaced.
